Chinese tanners are moving production to other countries

In the Market Intelligence section of the report, WLBW says it has spoken to one unnamed major supplier of leather who has moved 25% of production for the second half of 2013 to Indonesia and Vietnam.
The report says increasing production costs in China, growing environmental restrictions imposed by the authorities there, insecurity regarding future demand for finished leather and difficulties in securing finance are the main reasons for the shift.
