‘Dusk’ leather for special Rolls-Royce Phantom

To mark the tenth anniversary of the rebranding of its manufacturing facilities as the Home of Rolls-Royce, the luxury car brand unveiled a special commemorative edition of its Phantom model at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

The Home of Rolls-Royce opened its doors in Goodwood in the south of England at midnight on January 1, 2003. The new model, the Celestial Phantom, seeks to mark that midnight opening in a series of design detail.

These include an exterior colour scheme that “evokes the night sky”, and, on the inside, fine leather from Rolls-Royce’s own leather workshop, presented in a ‘dusk’ hue to “allude to the inky quality of a cloudless night sky”. In addition, the Starlight Headliner, a bespoke interior lighting feature using fibre optics, shows constellations, exactly as they appeared at midnight on that historic evening.
