Exhibition celebrates links between vintage and contemporary shoe designs

Luxury shopping destination, Westfield London, has joined forces with Northampton Museums & Art Gallery to create an exhibition that showcases leading UK shoe designers.

Coinciding with the start of London Fashion Week, the exhibition, called ‘My Favourite Shoe’, will run at Westfield from September 11-29.

‘My Favourite Shoe’ explores how vintage shoes inspire and influence contemporary designers, with a number of contemporary shoe designers working in UK, including Atalanta Weller, Camilla Skovgaard, Joanne Stoker, Mr Hare and Sophie Cox, taking part.

They each selected a favourite shoe from the archive at Northampton Museums & Art Gallery and paired it with a shoe from their own collection, illustrating the links between current shoe design and the collection at Northampton.
