Waalwijk museum extends Kobi Levi exhibition

The Dutch Leather and Shoe Museum in Waalwijk has announced that its Kobi Levi Footwear Art exhibition is being extended until the new year.

Originally scheduled to close at the end of August, the exhibition, which features 35 pairs of the eye-catching and unusual shoes created by Israeli designer Kobi Levi, will now run until January 5, 2014.

When the exhibition opened in June, Kobi Levi travelled to the Netherlands and offered workshops to explain how he works. Participants from the Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, the UK and Israel (students and working shoe designers alike) took part and the sessions were over-subscribed.

“Kobi Levi Footwear Art is one of the most successful exhibitions the Leather & Shoe Museum has presented in recent years,” the museum authorities said on announcing the extension. “To meet the great public demand from those who booked group visits in the autumn, we have decided to extend the exhibition until January.”
