"It's not just about getting them down the line, getting your bonus and getting home. These are hand-made bags, bags that people pay a lot of money for, and the signs remind you of that,” said apprentice manager Rosie Daly in an interview with UK daily The Independent.
The company also manufactures in Turkey and China, but keeps half its manufacturing in the UK to “maintain Britishness”.
The company sources 90% of its leather from Italy. Raw materials production technologist Amy Andrews, a former employee of a Yeovil tannery, said: "Every skin is different, so it's handy to know how the leathers are made."
