As a result, future exports of wet blue are likely to incur heavy duties, although the level has not yet been announced by the government.
Tanning industry associations in Turkey had campaigned for wet blue exports to be restricted because they are already heavily reliant on imported raw material, with at least 50% of bovine raw material coming in from outside Turkey.
