Big rise in Q2 revenue and earnings for JBS

Brazilian packer and tanning group has announced JBS sales across the group of around $9.3 billion for the second quarter of 2013. This represents an increase of 18.7% compared to the second quarter of 2012.

Its earnings on this figure were up by 65% to more than $700 million.

On announcing the results, group president, Wesley Batista, said JBS was committed to continuing to improve its business through organic growth and further acquisitions. “We believe in simple things, in doing things simply,” Mr Batista said, “and in hard work.”
