JBS appoints new president for its South American operations

Brazilian packer and tanning group JBS has appointed Miguel Gularte as the new president of its South American operations.

Mr Gularte has extensive experience of the meat sector in South America having worked in the sector for the last 32 years. He started his career at a co-operative in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, CICADE, before moving to Uruguay in 1996 to work at Frigorifico PUL, eventually becoming president of the company. In 2011, he led the sale of PUL to Minerva Foods. Since then he has acted as international vice-president at Minerva.
