Scandal in Switzerland as TV star is refused leather bag

Ms Winfrey was in Switzerland to attend the wedding of singer Tina Turner and went shopping at one of the stores run in the city by luxury goods retailer Trois Pommes. She pointed to the crocodile bag and asked the sales assistant if she could see it. She says the assistant refused to show her the bag, priced $38,000, because it was too expensive. Instead, the Trois Pommes sales representative offered to show Ms Winfrey a smaller, cheaper bag.
The incident has sparked controversy in Switzerland, although the owner of Trois Pommes, Trudie Goetz, has said it was all a “misunderstanding”.
