Clariant signs UN sustainability charter

Chemicals group Clariant has signed the UN Global Compact, which sets forth 10 general principles in human rights, labour, environmental protection and anti-corruption.

The company says these principles already inform its strategy, corporate culture and daily work, and that participating in the Compact permits dialogue with other stakeholders toward developing their own sustainability performance.

“We are demonstrating that sustainability is more than a buzzword to us,” said Clariant CEO Hariolf Kottmann. “We are already basing our corporate strategy on long-term, sustainable criteria, in order to enhance Clariant’s economic and ecological value creation.”
