Growth for Pakistan leather in fiscal year just ended

Pakistan’s leather industry export earnings grew by 7.7% in the financial year just ended (July 2012 to June 2013), reaching $1.16 billion, compared to a figure of $1.08 billion during the previous financial year.

Tanners exported 27.3 million square-metres of finished and semi-finished leather, achieving export values of $499 million. These figures represent an increase of 9.4% in volume and of nearly 12% in value compared to the previous financial year.
