INAC, Uruguay’s national meat institute, has announced that it is working on the design of a mobile abattoir. Its idea is for the mobile unit to travel round rural areas to make it easier for small producers to take their cattle to slaughter. INAC is already preparing a prototype.
The unit will include high-levels of hygiene and cold storage for carcases.
