High-end automotive manufacturer BMW has announced that Josef Kerscher will take up the post of managing director of its plant at Dingolfing, 100 kilometres from Munich. Mr Kerscher has worked for the BMW Group for 34 years and has been president of BMW manufacturing in Spartanburg, South Carolina, for the last six years. He will take up his new post on November 1.

Manfred Erlacher, currently managing director of the BMW plant in Leipzig, will move to the US to replace Mr Kerscher and Milan Nedeljkovic, who is responsible at present for assembly at the Leipzig plant, will, in turn, replace him.

Wolfgang Stadler, the current managing director of the plant at Dingolfing, is leaving the BMW Group to take up a position as a member of the board of directors of Jaguar Land Rover.
