Growth for Italian leather chemicals group

Italian chemicals group GSC has reported a positive start to 2013, with turnover for the first half looking likely to be more than 20% higher than in the first six months of 2012.

GSC formed as a group in October 2009 and sells leather chemicals under the Letex, Exel, Vandoni and Ber Chimica brands. It is based in Montebello Vicentino, close to the major tanning cluster at Arzignano in norther Italy. However, its export business is growing strongly, the group has said.

Full-year figures show that that GSC’s turnover grew by more than 13% between 2010 and 2012. Turnover from exports as a share of the total was 22.7% in 2010. By 2012, exports’ share of the total had increased to 31.2%. Today, the group has customers in 35 countries.
