Exotic skins brand Cuadra has opened its second store in the US, based in Los Angeles, to boost sales of its hand-made leathergoods in the country.

The company manufactures footwear and accessories in Mexico and specialises in crocodile, ostrich, stingray, python and lizard.

“This is a great opportunity for us,” said Edgar Carrillo, director of operations. “I believe it will become an important market.”

Cuadra has its headquarters in Leon and stores in Mexico City, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Aguascalientes, Saltillo and Playa del Carmen.

Its production meets the standards of The Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), which monitors the preservation of endangered species.
