Bangladesh’s finance minister, Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, has announced a reduction in the customs duty tanners in the country have to pay to import products such as leather chemicals.

In his budget speech for the 2013-14 financial year (July 2013-June 2014), the minister proposed lowering the customs duty on a list of products from 12% to 5%.
