In-house colour forecasts help Ecuadorean tannery

Ecuadorean tannery Curtiduría Tungurahua has told local media that the launch of a colour trends service compiled by an in-house research team has given it a sales boost.

High-end buyers have responded well to the service, sales director, Byron Córdova, said recently. He explained that the company’s own research team puts a trend report together after carrying out its own market research.

Mr Córdova said the company’s leather was now in demand among customers in Europe and Asia as well as in other parts of Latin America. He said the tannery would increase its production from current levels of 15,000 bovine hides per month to 20,000 per month by the end of 2013.
