Indian leather entrepreneurs encourage to consider investing in Ethiopia

Woldu Legesse, director general of the Ethiopian Leather Institute, told counterparts from the Indian Council for Leather Exports that the prospects for investment in production in Ethiopia and import of finished leather from there are promising, pointing out that some Indian companies, including footwear brand Farida, have already begun making some of their leather in Ethiopia.
Mr Legesse said the tax regime, duty-free export status to a number of important markets and even the favourable climate should help Ethiopia attract entrepreneurs from India.
