Greyhound adds leather in upgrades across fleet

The owner of US bus brand Greyhound is to invest £1.6 billion over the next four years to overhaul the company’s buses and technology, including upgrading seats to leather.

UK-based FirstGroup has ordered 220 new buses with leather seating, extra legroom,Wi-Fi and power outlets.

“We’re excited to give our fleet a significant upgrade with this latest bus order, especially as we continue to rapidly expand our popular Greyhound Express service into more markets this year,” said Dave Leach, CEO of Greyhound Lines.

Founded in 1914, Greyhound operates 1,700 buses to 3,800 destinations and carries almost 25 million passengers a year.
