Nigeria: Majority of tanneries in Kano are closed

The Centre for Research and Development, a nongovernmental organisation, said the few existing tanneries were operating at 60% capacity.
The comments were made during a meeting with the leather industry in which representatives, including Joseph Selabo from the Leather and Allied Products Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, called on the government to regulate the sector to boost business.
