Two Shandong tanneries told they must close

Two tanneries in Shandong Province in eastern China have been told by the authorities that they must close by the end of 2013.

According to a notice issued by the ministry of industry and information technology, Zhengmao Leather and Paihuang Leather are among a number of companies across 14 industrial sectors that have to close because their production set-ups are “backward”.
