Queensland cattle to defy national park grazing order

16/05/2013
Livestock farmers in the Australian state of Queensland are reported to be preparing to defy an order from federal environment minister, Tony Burke, banning cattle from grazing on national park land.

Media in Australia have said the Queensland government will open eight national reserves and five national parks to allow cattle to graze until the end of this year.

Farmers have asked for help because of drought and a decline in cattle prices.
