French luxury goods group Kering is to invest EUR 6 million in a Serbian tannery, lured by state incentives for new jobs.

The Paris-based group, which owns Gucci and Bottega Veneta, will start making leathergoods in Ruma, northwest of Belgrade.

Kering bought the bankrupt Ruma Fabrika Koze tannery earlier this year and will reopen it as Luxury Tannery, according to the Serbia Investment and Export Promotion Agency. It will receive EUR 8,000 for each of 120 employees it plans to hire.
