Deals on the horizon for Swaine Adeney Brigg
UK-based leathergoods company Swaine Adeney Brigg is in talks to provide clothing to Marks & Spencer after buying the former Aquascutum factory from Chinese owners.
The plant, based Northamptonshire, was closed by administrators in April last year with a loss of 116 jobs.
Swaine Adeney Brigg purchased the site in August with a view to restarting production and completing already-agreed orders. It hired 36 former staff, and is also looking to produce its own ranges.
The company, which has been making equestrian and leathergoods since 1750, was granted a Royal Warrant of Appointment by Queen Elizabeth in 1991 as her whip and glove maker.
