Clariant launches anti-soiling EasyGuard system

Chemicals company Clariant has launched a new anti-soiling EasyGuard aqueous system, aimed at the automotive and upholstery leather sectors and tanners working with footwear and fashion accessory manufacturers.

The new system is formulated to provide more effective resistance to everyday products that can spoil the appearance of leather. The company says it prevents dirt from adhering to the finished leather and stops soil getting into the leather structure, enabling lighter shades to look fresher for longer.

It claims the product is easily applied and avoids wasteful overspray. Automotive leather requires two applications; furniture upholstery, shoe and bag leather require a single application. It is low VOC, low emissions and is NEP/NMP-free.

“Clariant is pleased to offer tanners an innovative, sustainable and easy-to-use system that maintains the elegance and natural character of leather,” said Ralph Schneider, responsible for the global leather finishing range of Clariant. “It reflects our commitment to address ‘performance, people, planet’ in all our product innovation efforts.”
