Cattle farmers in NE Brazil worried about drought

Reports from Brazil say drought is “decimating” cattle herds in the north-east of the country.

On April 22, around 500 livestock farmers held a protest in Campina Grande in the state of Paraíba. The president of FAEPA, the livestock and agricultural federation of Paraíba, Mário Borba, said it was imperative to make local politicians and even the president of Brazil, Dilma Rousseff, aware of “the reality of rural life in the north-east at the moment”.
