Designers could hold solution for python problem

Authorities in Florida looking for answers to the problem of python overpopulation in the Everglades should enlist the help of designers, according to a wholesale vendor of alligators to brands like Hermes and Prada.

The New York Mag reported Brian Wood as saying he began manufacturing wallets and bags out of Florida pythons three years ago and believes the industry is in its infancy.

The Wildlife Commission is also considering contacting European luxury houses to discuss ways to monetise the snake problem, Don Ashley, a former inspector for the organisation, told the US publication.
