Vietnam: Q1 leather-sector exports up by 15% in value

According to the General Statistics Office (GSO) of Vietnam, total exports for the first quarter of 2013 reached $29.7 billion in value, an increase of 21% compared to the same quarter in 2012.

Leather-sector exports, including leather footwear, achieved a value of $2.1 billion in 2013, an increase of 15.3% year on year.

Of the total for the leather sector, exports of leather shoes contributed $1.7 billion.
