Argentina: tannery workers return after protest

18/04/2013
The tannery workers union in Argentina has claimed success in securing a return to work for a group of workers at a facility in Mercedes, near Buenos Aires.

According to Walter Correa, a spokesperson for the SOC union, the workers had been forcibly removed from their place of work, the Magromer tannery, after staging a walk-out in protest at working conditions.

After the workers’ reinstatement, he said he was pleased at the outcome, but insisted the company must still take steps to improve its relationship with the workforce.
