Meat exports from Uruguay in the first quarter of 2013 increased in value by 4% to reach $440.3 million. Beef accounted for 82% of the total.

Although sheep accounted for only 4% of the total, sheep meat exports incresed by 34.3% in volume compared to a year earlier. In terms of value, sheep products brought in export revenues of $16.6 million, an increase of 23.9%.
