Sales of leathergoods rose 43% compared with 2011. Sales of clothing and footwear increased by 9.9% and 12%, respectively.
During the year, the group opened 78 stores, which extended its presence in fast-growing countries.
Prada chief executive Patrizio Bertelli said: “The year saw the group set new records in terms of revenues and earnings. Based on these results and a sound equity and financial structure, we will proceed along our path of growth with further investment on retail network expansion, confident that, general economic uncertainty notwithstanding, the work that has been done over the past few years has laid the foundations for the future success of our business.”
As well as its namesake, the Prada Group owns Miu Miu and footwear companies Church's and Car Shoe.
