Muirhead selected for Grosvenor House project

Leather from UK-based tannery Andrew Muirhead & Son has been selected for the interiors of Grosvenor House hotel, based on London’s Park Lane.

Andrew Muirhead, part of the Scottish Leather Group, promotes its upholstery leather as ‘low carbon’ because the group has been running its own thermal energy plant since 2010, taking what was previously waste sent to landfill and converting it into energy for heating recycled water for the manufacturing process.

Malcolm Carey of intrerior design company Nick Dawson Designs selected Muirhead to supply a
mink-coloured leather for the hotel.

Lorna O’Neill, director of public relations at Grosvenor House, said: “As a luxury, iconic hotel in the heart of Mayfair, working with Muirhead is the perfect partnership for Grosvenor House. Our guests travel from across the globe to enjoy our afternoon tea in the Park Room so it is important that our furniture delivers the complete experience and ambiance.”
