Increase in Vietnamese exports in first two months

Vietnam total exports rose by 24% in the first two months of 2013, reaching $18.9 billion, the country’s General Statistics Office has reported.

Of this total, the leather sector contributed $1.5 billion, 15.8% more than in the same period in 2012.

As usual, leather footwear accounted for the bulk of the sector’s export earnings in January and February, with a value of more than $1.2 billion.
