Growth for Ethiopian leather industry

Statistics published by the Ethiopian Leather Industry Development Institute show the country earned $80 million from the export of leather and leather products in the past eight months - $2.5 million more than during the same period last year.

Around $66 million came from processed leather, $11.5 million from footwear, $2 million from gloves and the remaining from other leather products, said the institute’s planning and information director, Tesfaye Berhanu.
