Roland Mouret launches first bag collection

11/03/2013
French fashion designer Roland Mouret has launched his first bag collection, which he says uses “materials selected from the finest Italian tanneries, including calfskin, goatskin, stingray-print kidskin, suede and patent”.

He says emphasis is placed on clean, essential shapes and beautiful materials that will endure time and wear. The colour palette is deep and wintery with earthy tones of taupe, clay and dark brown accented with touches of petrol blue, emerald green, white and burgundy.

Mr Mouret said: "Designing leathergoods pushes you to question your creativity and bags are, for me, the next level of my design maturity."

Four styles, Le Sept chain shoulder bag, Hugo clutch, Monceau buckle satchel and Paris-Paris frame pouch were debuted at his autumn winter 2013 catwalk show in Paris.
