Bill Amberg confirmed as keynote speaker at Beast to Beauty 2013
07/03/2013
Bill Amberg was born in Northampton and developed his love of leather there. In the 1980s, he spent time in Australia before returning to the UK to set up a small leather workshop in London. Commissions to make bags for Liberty and Paul Smith followed quickly, and he also began to make a name for himself for using leather in interior design projects, which has led to commissions to put leather walls and floors into shops, apartments, offices and yachts.
By the mid-1990s, he was opening his own stores and expanding into key international markets, including the US and Japan. Growth in popularity among some of the top names in business and the arts, including Uma Thurman, Jude Law, Kate Winslet and Roman Abramovich, has continued into this century. Bill Amberg’s passion for and commitment to leather remains as strong as ever.
Titled Leather; Eco and Creativity by Design, Beast to Beauty 2013 will give a global perspective of the ecology of leather.
