Chemicals group BASF has appointed a new president of the Europe regional division, to come into effect on October 1, 2013.

Hartwig Michels is currently president of BASF’s global competence centre procurement, and he succeeds Jacques Delmoitiez, who will retire in September after 28 years at the company.

Fried-Walter Münstermann, who is currently president of regional functions for North America, will succeed Mr Michels on August 1.

Dr André Becker, senior vice-president of global executive human resources, will take up Mr Münstermann’s role on July 1.
