Surge in Japanese demand for Vietnamese shoes

11/01/2013
Exports of leather footwear from Vietnam to Japan are skyrocketing, due to the decline in orders from the EU.

In the first 11 months of 2012, footwear worth $299 million was exported to Japan, a year-on-year increase of 35%, say local reports.

Japan now takes 5% of Vietnam’s footwear exports, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
