Fashion label Mugler branches into leathergoods

Nicola Formichetti, the creative director at French fashion house Mugler, has launched the label’s first leathergoods line, with a collection of bags available next month.

The structured bags combine metallic calfskin with snakeskin and crocodile.

He said: “This is my fourth collection, and following the evolution of the brand, I was interested in creating sculptured objects in 3D, a piece of the Mugler world that one can carry around, an element that completes the look.”

Prices range from $1,050 for a leather clutch to $18,000 for a bag made from patent crocodile.
