Xing Ye to expand wet blue capacity

China’s Xing Ye Leather Technology Company has announced it is to build a tannery in Jinjiang, investing 154 million yuan ($24.6 million).

The China Leather Industry Association reported that the plant will have the production capacity to process 1.5 million pieces of wet blue per year.

Fujian-based Xing Ye was named the regional winner for China at Tannery of the Year 2011, organised by World Leather magazine.

The company has also named Cai Jianshe as its new chief executive.
