Uruguay’s livestock, agriculture and fisheries ministry (MGAP) has announced new funding of $3.5 million to boost sheep-farming in the South American country.

More than 1,000 sheep-farmers throughout Uruguay will benefit, receiving subsidies for investment in new technology. The government said it wanted to improve productivity and infrastructure throughout the sector, dominated in Uruguay by family-run farms.
