Good opportunity for Turkey

Statistics show that leathergoods exports from Turkey will have a value of $670 million for 2012.

When the money tourists from abroad spend on leathergoods while visiting Turkey is added, the total value of the sector’s overseas trade will be more than $3 billion.

These figures have come from an organisation called the Turkish Leather Industry Employers Union.

The organisation’s chairman, Burak Uyguner, said in a recent interview that he thought the downturn in other parts of Europe could create a good opportunity for entrepreneurs in Turkey’s leather sector to expand and to continue to increase the sector’s export revenues.
