The fashion houses were among 11 winners, which also included car brand Ferarri, which took Best International Luxury Brand, and Gerry McGovern for Range Rover and Land Rover, who took the prize for Best Luxury Design Talent.

More than 500 leading figures from the luxury industries attended the event, including Michael Ward, managing director of Harrods; Jonathan Ackeroyd, managing director of Alexander McQueen; Emma Hill, creative director of Mulberry; and Gianluca Brozzetti, CEO of Roberto Cavalli.

Michael Morley, CEO of private bank Coutts & Co, said: “Walpole plays a fundamental role in ensuring the continuation of our nation's reputation as home to some of the world's best talent within the luxury industry. The awards serve as a celebration of the work of these businesses and their contribution to Britain's ongoing position as a leading hub for the luxury sector.”

Walpole represents over 175 leading British luxury brands. It mentors entrepreneurial emerging British businesses and lobbies the UK government and the EU on behalf of the industry.
