Strong growth continues for Vietnamese leather sector

Vietnam earned $6.9 billion from exports of leathergoods and leather footwear in the first ten months of 2012. This represents an increase of 13.2% on the same period in 2001.

Leather shoes had a share of $5.7 billion; accessories contributed the other $1.2 billion. In the month of October alone, footwear exports were worth $500 million, while exports of leathergoods brought in $130 million.
