TFL predicts spring 2014 colour trends
31/10/2012
The catalogue is segmented into colour topics for the target markets and particular leather articles, and includes a pull-out ‘fan’ that can be used for colour matching.
The trends are still divided into ‘wearing’ and ‘living’; ‘wearing’ comprises inspirations for garments, footwear and accessories, while the ‘living’ section features colours that will decorate the season’s interior designs.
For garments, matt, crease-resistant, unlined soft leather jackets with wet-white leather inserts are set to be popular, while for bags it’s bright brush-off effects with metallic shades. Colours range from pastel greens and red to orange and ocean blue.
For interiors, the trend is characterised by hand-buffed, padded, washed-out nubuck leathers and soft vegetable leathers with a waxy touch combined with fluorescent suede splits. Leather articles with a low weight, finished with coatings protecting against soiling and weather, which maintain the silky touch of the leather, are preferred, in colours from pastel brown to orange.
In addition, TFL is promoting its TFL SELLA® DERM M2 range of liquid salt-free metal complex dyes, which are miscible in water and organic solvents. It recommends these for shade intensifying, correcting and levelling of dyed leather.
