Luxury focus lends weight to Le Cuir À Paris
28/09/2012
At its most recent edition, which took place in the French capital from September 19-21, there were 14,011 visitors in total, an increase of 9.8% compared to the September 2011 edition. The amount of exhibition space was also up, by 23% compared to a year earlier. The 433 exhibitors used the space to show off types of leather that they believe fashion companies will need to have in stock to make their collections for the autumn-winter 2013-2014 season.
“All the major luxury brands sent people to the show,” the organisers said afterwards. Visitors from Italy were up by 22%, while those from Japan were up by 39% and those from the US by 16%.
As for the leather on show, this edition of Le Cuir À Paris suggested that the theme for autumn-winter 2013-2014 could be ‘less is more’. “Visitors were searching for the authentic, simple and unadorned look,” the organisers said, “where all the beauty and fragility of the leather shines through.”
