Large-scale Chinese tanneries achieve growth

The China Leather Industry Association has reported that the value of the leather produced by the 742 tanneries it regards as large scale increased in the first seven months of 2012.

Collectively, the tanneries produced 400 million square-metres of finished leather over the period, an increase of 19.2% on the same period in 2011. The value of the leather, around $15.2 billion, represents an increase of 18.3%.
