Trends experts offer a taste in advance of Le Cuir A Paris

11/09/2012
The organisers of Le Cuir À Paris have announced details of the trends display that will be on show at the next edition of the exhibition in Paris on September 19–21.

At the trends display area, tanners and leather buyers from around the world will be able to see the types and colours of leather that the trends experts working with Le Cuir À Paris believe will be in demand in the autumn-winter 2013-14 season.

It will be a winter “for flashy extroverts and quiet introverts”, the organisers said in advance of the event, characterised by “a desire for comfort or for surprising others”.

It will be a winter spent by the fireside, or walking through the grounds of a castle in either smooth leather pull up, or ultra-matt rubber-textured boots, a winter “to snuggle inside a sheepskin greatcoat decorated with Paisley patterns, with your hair tucked inside a washed and re-washed leather hat”.

It could also be a Bollywood and Las Vegas winter with lamé or mirror leathers, or paper leathers that are crumpled, cracked and gilded, the trends experts believe, with tousled Mongolian goat, quirky two-tone croco, lace on leather and lace-lined leather among the other possibilities, with shimmering colours on all types of materials.

Selections will be richly coloured and flamboyant, and will also mimic nature and the coats of small, shy animals.
