Bentley bets big on Russia

One of the new models, the Continental GT Speed, is the fastest road car the company has ever produced. It retains a hand-crafted interior created using soft, supple leathers, including diamond-quilted, perforated leather hides to all four seats, door trims and rear quarter panels. The cabin headlining is finished in indented leather hide, while optional embroidered Bentley emblems can be specified for the headrests. Seventeen different hide colours are available and as with the rest of the Continental family, the interior of the GT Speed can be specified with duo-tone colour splits, including one split previously exclusive to GT V8. Contrast stitching throughout, including to the steering wheel, is also available.
First showcased as a concept at the 2011 Frankfurt Show, the Mulsanne Executive Interior was also presented for the first time in Russia at the MIAS. The car is offered in two specifications, Theatre and iPad (the latter displayed in Moscow), for state-of-the-art multimedia connectivity on the move. The iPad specification offers office level functionality and connectivity. Two beautifully crafted, electrically-deployed veneered picnic tables for rear passengers provide a soft hide writing surface, colour-matched to the seats of the Mulsanne, and at the press of a button twin iPads with wireless keyboards are revealed.
Also making its Russian debut at the MIAS in August was the Continental GT V8. Interior highlights in this model are four hide colours offered in standard range and the two-tone leather colour split mentioned above.
Commenting on the company’s attendance at the MIAS, chief executive, Wolfgang Dürheimer, said: “These three models illustrate the strength and breadth of the Bentley brand and are sure to appeal to automotive enthusiasts across the region. In 2011, our sales in Russia increased by 45%, making Bentley the best-selling luxury car brand.”
