New tannery for Chinese firm

Chinese tanning group Mingxin Leather has laid the foundation stonre for a new tannery in a special leather production park in Fuxin in the north-eastern province of Liaoning.

The new tannery will process an estimated 2 million hides per year and will specialise in making finished leather for automotive interiors.
 
It will take until 2014 to complete construction of the new tannery, but the company has said it expects to have the first phase finished and for production to start before the end of 2012.
